Giving Back

In 2011 STTS initiated “High and Dry Computers” to assist families in the Brisbane and Ipswich floods. Over 150 refurbished computers were donated to families who had lost possessions in that devasting event. Thanks to the support of volunteers and organisations who made this possible.

2011 Floods

In recent years STTS has continued to receive support from schools and companies to refurbish computers, tablets and mobile phones. These donated devices have been sent to a number of locations including Vanuatu, Uganda and Ethiopia.

Proceeds of sales from these donated devices have also been sent to a number of charities including those below.

Bribie U3A

In 2023 STTS initiated voluntary tutoring at “Bribie University of the 3rd Age“. The focus of Friday afternoons at U3A has been ‘Protecting your Household and Technology“. During this time we focus on how to avoid scams and fraud. The 5 week course highlights important concepts in how to manage your own responses to scam calls, updating devices, password management and multi-factor authentication.

All are welcome to join us in 2024 as we tackle the challenges of personal security and technology.

A21

In 2024 STTS continues to encourage support for these valuable not for profit organisations.
